Pink eye!

Around 4:00 today I got a call from the daycare. "Logan is not acting like himself, is really fussy, and we think he has pink eye." Not exactly how I wanted to start the weekend. They said no rush in picking him up...just a courtesy call.

I get there and he actually does have pink eye....in BOTH eyes. Yeah! Another girl in his class, Zoe, had left early because of the same thing. So, she got it from Logan or he got it from her. I guess they could have gotten from anyone in the class. I don't know how all that works. I just know it's highly contageous and I don't want it. I immediately called the doctor asking about an appointment. Luckily, it's one of those things they can call in a prescription for, not necessary to make an appointment. Thank God! Saves us a $25 copay. I can deal with a $5 prescription from CVS. The fun part will be trying to actually get the drops in his eyes....I'm sure he'll be his normal cooperative self...yeah right!

So he now has green, gooey junk flowing from both eyes. We've gotta keep them clean and make sure not to touch my eyes and keep my hands washed really well. So as far as going anywhere as a family this weekend, it's pretty much out of the question. After taking the medication (drops) for 24 hours it's supposively not contageous anymore. Let's hope that's the case. It's too cold to go anywhere much anyway. Plus, I'm still in my cold mode. Been coughing, sniffling, wiping my nose all week since Sunday. Not fun!

Oh, and I need about $6900 worth of dental work done. Yeah 2009! What a great year this has turned out to be so far!!

p.s. I should learn to be more optimistic. maybe that should have been a New Year's Resolution!!
