Panther Creek

Well, I can't say I haven't exercised this week. I think Sunday I exercised enough for the WHOLE week. We decided to take a day hike with some good friends of ours, The Roberson's. Why not? It was to be an awesome day out. The sky was blue, the temperature was great and to hang out with friends is always fun! We got to the trail around 10:30 or so. It didn't take long to get all our gear along with the kiddies. Yes, us crazy fools took our babies and trusted them to our husbands while they carried them on their backs. Even on a trail only one person wide and at times steep enough to make a person not even scared of heights shake in their boots. I don't know what we were thinking and we of course got some "Are you nuts" looks along the way. We were having a good time and we'll never see those people again so we ignored them and carried on.

The hike to the falls was pretty much a breeze. It takes a while to get to where you are going. One way is 3.5 miles and really that is a long way.....for me anyway. I was proud of myself. I didn't complain. I just kept thinking of my brother and how he just dislocated his ankle and broke the two bones in his lower leg. The images kept flashing in my mind and that is all I could think of. How easy it would be to get into that same situation. And to top it all of in the middle of BFE. That would really suck!

Needless to say, we made it all the way there and back. A whopping 7 miles round trip. I had fun but am exhausted and sore. My calves are the worst part. I was feeling like my ankles would give out, had blisters in between my toes and heels, and also my big toe nail on my right foot kept digging into the end of my shoe almost the whole way back. So you can imagine that was pretty painful. I could hardly walk into Dairy Queen for some much needed fuel. Then again, I think DQ wasn't the best idea. I was plagued with major heartburn til midnight..and we went to bed at 9:30. I was exhausted but couldn't sleep. I had a terrible night. I just wanted to go to sleep!!

Logan and Ava had a great time. I have to give props to them for sitting in those packs for like six hours, no lie. They had a few cranky moments but they soon passed and they soon passed out!!! They were such troopers and I just adore them. I will post pictures soon. I am too tired and should be in bed by now. I feel the hearburn coming on again. I hope tonight is not a repeat of last night. Better get the Zantac.
